ABOUT MOHAM FOUNDATION

Purpose

MOHAM is a community service organization that was setup for Malayali families of Kerala origin living in and around Mountain House, California. Established in 2007 as a small gathering of 10 families in a house, it has grown to 250+ families and community gatherings that routinely fill large auditoriums. As mostly first- and second-generation immigrants in USA, they have deep roots into Kerala and other parts of the world and often our members have struggled to integrate into the society. Our goal is not only to provide a sense of identity and family, but also to provide a helping hand to those in need. These include educational, financial, health and social services to the community members as well as others in the society that they interact with.

Vision

Our vision includes promoting Malayalam language and teaching our children the importance of the various cultural festivals celebrated by their ancestors.

Mission

We intend to spread awareness that helps foster the culture and traditions of the state of Kerala, India to the next generation.

This organization also aims at enriching cultural integration and enhancing communal harmony among the diversified communities in California and beyond, providing educational, charitable activities and financial tools that uplifts the community with scholarships, grants, and mentorship.
